This 2nd part of my post focuses on movies and Oscar snubs. The only reason I split this post in two parts is b/c I got an LJ error saying it was too big when it was all together, no joke. I know I already laid out the rules, but here they are again ...
Let me say upfront that these are my opinions. You may not share them, but I ask you to respect them. If you don't think these people deserve to win, you can take solace in knowing that they haven't won and keep it to yourself. I don't mean to sound b-chy, but I will NOT tolerate flames on this.
I hope all of you comment and also discuss actors/movies/shows that you think have been snubbed. If I haven't included it, it's probably because I don't know/haven't seen it. That's what this is for - TO HAVE FUN and let the healing discussion flow. O:)

These rant blogs are an idea I've had for years and been wanting to get "off my chest." After MANY weeks of taking my laptop to work, I FINALLY got this post done. [pats self on back] We all know what it's like to watch award shows and see our favorite actors/movies/shows get snubbed for awards they are so deserving of. I had been building this list for a while and with each year it's only gotten bigger.
Rant blogs are my method de choix for venting my frustrations, but to make them prettier to look at for you (and myself) I've included pictures and video clips of these actors doing what I think is their finest work. This particular section focuses on Emmy Awards/TV.

For those of you who follow my journal regularly, you may observe a pattern emerging. After I rant and wail I like to make my next post more light and upbeat. I refuse to be a "Debbie Downer" and let the crapulence of certain creators bring me down.
In spite of all the disappointments I've had lately, one of the only things getting me through is the discovery of new fandoms (and further appreciation for 'classic' ones). And there are some great ones represented here.
As with my rant blogs, I want this to be an open forum for discussion. Please feel free to discuss your opinions, hopes and dreams for any of the fandoms listed here.

It's been FAR too long since I've posted any DVD screencaps! Bad J! *slaps wrist* This batch is from The Day After Tomorrow. This movie is a great example of what happens when you combine good writing, great cast and some "mind-bottling" special FX. What you get is an "end-of-the-world/disaster" movie that leaves you satisfied by the end not saying "WTF" every 5 seconds to the people you're watching it with. TDAT is a good flick, def worth seeing.

Now that I've ranted sufficiently (whew), I always like to follow up with something much more "upbeat." Although I've dropped 3 fandoms, I've picked up many new ones and am super stoked with all of the new awesomeness as well as paying homage to "the classics." I made a favorite TV kiss post like this a while, ago, but now I give you my new, improved favorite TV kisses post! Suit up, kids, 'cause it's gonna be ... wait for it ... LEGENDARY!

It's that time again kids, and by that I mean summer. Although it's great that the weather gets hotter, the TV gets colder, so 'tis a bittersweet thing.
Now that all of my shows have had their season finales, I felt the need to do a mini "vidspam review" to capture the awesomeness of our "summer send-off."

This time around, my film de choix is The Incredibles, a movie that proves why Disney NEEDS Pixar. Super cute movie and genuinely funny to boot. The movie lovingly spoofs the world of superheroes and yet becomes a great "superhero movie" in its own right. Which is what any good spoof should do ... But enough waxing poetic, onto the caps!

I wanted to see this movie because of Stuart and Charlize who are one of my most favorite celebrity couples on and off screen. While they were great in this movie, I did NOT enjoy the "ménage à trois" they shared with Penelope Cruz (mostly because I just don't care for Penelope Cruz that much).
I usually try to run "spoiler-free" however I feel the need to warn you that this movie has one of the most unsatisfying endings I've ever seen. The movie has its flaws throughout, but it could've been a great movie had the ending been different. In other words: If you see it, you see it at your own risk, kids.
Well, at least it gives us some hot Stuart/Charlize to drool over, so we can overlook that ... O:-)
